David is an advocate in both civil and criminal courts. His civil practice focuses on local and cross-border commercial disputes based on contract and directors’ duties, and also on the enforcement in Hong Kong of judgments in civil or commercial matters that are given in the Mainland.

David regularly accepts instructions from the Department of Justice to prosecute on fiat in the magistracies.

David has been a part-time Lecturer (Non-Clinical) at the University of Hong Kong since 2017, teaching Criminal Procedure and Criminal Litigation Practice for the PCLL programme.

Chan Chi Wah v Lo Chi Keung (HCMP 188/2018)

Appeared at the substantive hearing for the plaintiff, where the defendant was removed as the executor by consent with costs.

Cheuk Kay Limited v The IO of Yin Yee Mansion (HCA 567/2022)

Represented the owner of a residential flat in seeking an injunction against the Incorporated Owners for renting out the common areas of a residential building for filming movies, and the owner obtained an undertaking by the IO in lieu of an injunction.

Dimerco International Logistics Company Ltd & Anor v Ho Wing Hay (HCA 1162/2022)

Obtained an injunction order by consent against a former employee from disclosing confidential information taken from the company during his term of employment.

Gurung Dil Bahadur v Fulcrum Engineering & Construction Ltd (DCPI 3783/2019)

Appeared at the hearing for assessment of damages and obtained a costs order nisi against the plaintiff’s solicitors personally for their late application to cease acting for the plaintiff.

 Shun Hing Holdings Co. Ltd. & Ors v Li Kwok Po David & Ors (HCA 664/2012)

Appeared as a junior led by Mr Denis Chang SC and Ms Po Wing Kay in an application to unseal audited financial statements redacted by the Plaintiffs and to make disclosure of written representations by the board of directors to their auditors

Wen Wenyu v China Fair Land (Changchun) Ltd & Ors (HCMP 534/2022)

Successfully sought an order for costs for and on behalf of the 1st to 5th Defendants against the foreign Plaintiff who commenced the action for breach of contract against the 2nd Defendant. The Plaintiff’s case was dismissed by reason of the Plaintiff’s failure to pay the security for costs ordered.

HKSAR v Choi Kwong Chi & Ors (WKCC 517/2021)

The defendant faced charges of unlawful assembly and possession of offensive weapons. The defendant was acquitted after trial.

HKSAR v Kwok Ka Chun (WKCC 1336/2024)

The defendant faced a charge of indecent assault, and the prosecution agreed to deal with the matter by way of a bind-over order.

HKSAR v Lester Shum & Anor (CACC 101/2021)

Appeared as a junior led by the late Mr Graham Harris S.C. in the application for bail pending appeal against sentence for defendants convicted of unlawful assembly.

HKSAR v Muhammad Naeem & Anor (WKCC 2107/2022)

The 2nd Defendant was charged with dealing with dutiable goods and was acquitted after trial.

HKSAR v Wong Chi Fung & Ors (DCCC 876, 885, 890 & 892/2020)

Appeared as a junior led by the late Mr Graham Harris S.C. in mitigation for the defendants involved in unlawful assembly.

HKSAR v Wong Suet Ting (WKCC 3809/2018)

Acted as the fiat prosecutor at trial and secured a conviction against the defendant, who committed theft of 69 items from a souvenir shop at the Hong Kong Disneyland.
