Breanne Kwok joined Liberty Chambers in 2015 after completing her pupillage with Mr Graham Harris SC, Mr Jonathan Chang SC, Mr Ashok Sakhrani, and Mr Jonathan Ah-Weng.

Breanne has developed a broad practice in both criminal and civil matters and accepts instructions across all areas of Chambers’ work. She has appeared as a sole advocate and as junior counsel in the Magistrates’ Courts, District Court, High Court, and Court of Appeal. She is also a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

In 2022 and 2023, Breanne was appointed as a Deputy Magistrate in Eastern Magistrates’ Court,  Kowloon City Magistrates’ Court, and West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court.

Notable Cases

Tong Seak Kan v Corporate Express Limited and another [2016] HKCFI 2063 (HCA 3074/2015, 5 December 2016) – represented the Plaintiff at a trial for assessment of damages.

Law Tsz Lun v Yiu Cheuk Wang [2018] HKDC 1052 (DCCJ 848/2017, 6 September 2018) – represented the
Plaintiff in a monetary claim.

Mok Hung Fai v Ku Ming Yan [2019] HKCFI 134 (HCA 1912/2017, 23 January 2019) – represented the
Defendant in a summary judgment application; successfully resisted the Plaintiff’s application and
the subsequent appeal.

Ever Bright (HK) Construction Engineering Limited v Kosasih Muanto [2019] HKCFI 1391 (HCA
1037/2013, 31 May 2019) – represented the Plaintiff at a trial for assessment of damages.

曹銀城 及 鍾偉德, DCCJ 5247/2018 – represented the Defendant in taking out an application to
strike out the Plaintiff’s Writ of Summons and Statement of Claim; application successful.

HKSAR v Leung Tin-kei and 5 others, HCCC 408/2016 – represented the 4ᵗʰ Defendant (led by Mr
Osmond Lam) who faced a charge of unlawful assembly and a charge of riot. After a 70-day trial, the
4ᵗʰ Defendant was acquitted of the charge of unlawful assembly, and the jury could not reach a
majority verdict in respect of the riot charge.

HKSAR v Leung Tin-kei and 4 others, HCCC 408A/2016 – a re-trial of the 4ᵗʰ Defendant in HCCC
408/2016 (the 3ʳᵈ Defendant at re-trial), represented the same defendant (led by Mr Jon Wong) who
faced a charge of riot. After an 89-day trial, the 3ʳᵈ Defendant was acquitted of the charge of
riot.

The IO of No. 202 Portland Street v Wong Yu Shek & another [2022] HKCA 393 (CAMP 352/2021, 16 March 2022) – represented the Plaintiff in applying for an order for possession. The application was
successful, and the Defendants’ claim for adverse possession was dismissed. The Defendants’ application for leave to appeal was dismissed.

Field Finance Limited v Cheung Mo Ching [2023] HKCFI 3311 (HCA 2818/2018, 29 December 2023)
represented the Plaintiff moneylender at a trial for the recovery of debt. Judgment was granted to
the Plaintiff.

HKSAR v Tai Yiu Ting and others [2024] HKCFI 3298 (HCCC 69/2022, 19 November 2024) – represented
the 23ʳᵈ Defendant (who pleaded guilty) in plea in mitigation.

Man Pui Shing v International Paper Manufacturing & Distribution Limited and others [2025] HKDC 16 (DCPI 2911/2020, 16 January 2025) – represented the 1ˢᵗ Defendant in this personal injuries claim.
The Plaintiff’s claim against the 1ˢᵗ Defendant was dismissed with costs. The 1ˢᵗ Defendant’s third
party proceedings against the 2ⁿᵈ and 3ʳᵈ Defendant were successful, and the latter was liable to
indemnify the former in full.

HKSAR v Wong Ji Yuet [2026] HKCA 284 (CACC 263/2024, 23 February 2026) – represented the Appellant
to appeal against her sentence.
